R. Sivaraman was an Indian politician and a Member of the Legislative Assembly. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly as a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate from Tiruppattur (194) constituency in the 1996 election. Sivaraman contested the Tiruppattur constituency again in 2001, when he was runner-up to K. K. Umadhevan of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. In May 2003, Sivaraman, who was a close friend of M. K. Azhagiri, the son of DMK party leader Karunanidhi,
