Qantara Sharq is an Egyptian center and city situated on the east bank of the Suez Canal in the Sinai Peninsula, on the northern border of Ismailia Governorate. It is connected to Qantara Gharb by the Suez Canal Bridge. The city was constructed upon the remains of an ancient Roman-era cemetery, which was known as Tharu during the ancient Egyptian era and Sela in Greek and Roman writings.
