Propelargonidins are a type of condensed tannins formed from epiafzelechin. They yield pelargonidin when depolymerized under oxidative conditions. Propelargonidins can be found in the rhizomes of the fern Drynaria fortunei, in buckwheat, and in the edible halophyte Carpobrotus edulis.
