Pierre Spicre was a painter in the Duchy of Burgundy. Spicre is thought to have been born between 1435 and 1440 and is presumed to have been the son of Guillaume Spicre, a painter of stained glass windows from Dijon who has been recorded in the service of Duke Philip the Good between 1450 and 1468. The first mention of Pierre Spicre is in 1470, to judge the finished tomb of John the Fearless and Margaret of Bavaria in Champmol.
