Phillip ("Phil") George Boggs was a diver and Olympic gold medalist from the United States; he won the 3 m springboard event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada. Boggs was born in Akron, Ohio, and graduated from Firestone High School in 1967. He graduated from Florida State University in 1971 and served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force for five years, leaving as a captain in 1976. He was an instructor at the U.S. Air Force Academy and graduated from the University of Michigan Law
