Peter Cowperthwaite Godsoe was a Canadian businessman and president, chairman and chief executive officer of the Bank of Nova Scotia from 1992 to 2003. He was a member of the board of directors of multiple corporations, and served as the chairman of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and Sobeys. Born in Toronto, Ontario, the son of J. Gerald "Gerry" and Margaret (Cowperthwaite) Godsoe, he graduated from the University of Toronto Schools before receiving a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and physics
