Pescosansonesco is a comune and town in the province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It is 500 metres (1,600 ft) above sea level in the natural park known as the "Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park".
Famous for its sanctuary, the village is divided into two parts: the old suburb, "Pescosansonesco Vecchio", which was abandoned in 1944 due to numerous landslides caused by a series of earthquakes, and the new village, "Pescosansonesco Nuovo", built some 3 km (2 mi) away, in the
