text: Pertusaria darwiniana is a species of corticolous-lignicolous, crustose lichen in the family Pertusariaceae. Found on the Galápagos Islands, it was formally described as a new species in 2015 by Alba Yánez-Ayabaca and Frank Bungartz. The type specimen was collected on the Darwin volcano at an altitude of 860 m (2,820 ft), where it was found growing on twigs of Croton scouleri. The species epithet acknowledges the Charles Darwin Foundation, and its namesake, Charles Darwin.
