Paul Célestin Marie Joseph Venel was a French army officer and colonial governor. He served as Commandant of the Military Territory of Zinder from 1908 to 1911, and Commissioner from 1913 to 1915. Venel was in command of the 11th Colonial Infantry Division, part of the Corps expéditionnaire d'Orient, from August to November 1917, fighting in the Macedonian front.
