Otto mesi in due ore ossia Gli esiliati in Siberia is an opera in three acts by Gaetano Donizetti to a libretto by Domenico Gilardoni. The original story comes from the 1806 novel, Elisabeth, ou Les exilés de Sibérie, written by Sophie Ristaud Cottin. Luigi Marchionni's subsequent play, La figlia dell’esiliato, ossia Otto mesi in due ore, first performed in Italy in 1820, was the more immediate basis for Gilardoni's libretto.
