Octav Șuluțiu was a Romanian prose writer and literary critic. Born in Bucharest, his parents were Gheorghe Șuluț, a tailor, and his wife Victoria. After attending primary school and, from 1921 to 1926, gymnasium in his native city, he went to Mihai Viteazul High School on a scholarship, graduating in 1928.
