It is found in Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Bioko, Gabon, the Republic of the Congo, Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and north-western Tanzania. The habitat consists of forests. The larvae feed on Costus species, including C. afer.
