Norbert Zafimahova was a politician from Madagascar who served in the French Senate from 1948–1958. Born into a powerful family in Farafangana, southeast Madagascar, Zafimahova was in the representative assembly for the Parti des Déshérités de Madagascar (PADESM) at the time of the Rebellion of 1947 in which members of his family were killed. In 1956, he participated in the formal breakup of PADESM, founding the Union des démocrates sociaux de Madagascar with his brother Antoine in opposition t
