text: Noel Dwyer was an Irish professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in Dublin, he played his schoolboy football with Stella Maris before moving to Northern Ireland club Ormeau. He went on to play 14 times for the Republic of Ireland national team between 1959 and 1964. He began his English club career with Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he made just five appearances in the 1957–58 season.
