Nicholas Frederick Brady is an American businessman and politician from the U.S. state of New Jersey. A member of the Republican Party, he served as the United States Secretary of the Treasury under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush from 1988 to 1993, and is also known for articulating the plan of the Brady Bonds in March 1989. In April 1982, he was appointed to finish the unexpired term of Harrison A. Williams as a member of the United States Senate following Williams' resignation
