text: The National Development Party, or Chart Pattana Party was a Thai political party that existed from 1992 until its merger into Thai Rak Thai Party in 2004. After the dissolution of the Thai Rak Thai Party in 2007, the National Development group merged into the Ruam Jai Thai Chart Pattana Party. It was founded by the former prime minister Chatichai Choonhavan. During the 1990s, it was among the country's four strongest parties.
