Naast is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Soignies, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium, known by the wellspring of the river Zenne. Its population continued to increase throughout the nineteenth century. In 1972 a city was built to address the housing crisis but also to maintain a young population in Naast who tended to emigrate.
