text: N-apostrophe is a digraph used in Afrikaans, a language spoken in South Africa and Namibia. The digraph was encoded in Unicode as precomposed character, U+0149 ʼn LATIN SMALL LETTER N PRECEDED BY APOSTROPHE, that is currently deprecated. The Unicode standard recommends that a sequence of an apostrophe followed by n be used instead: the use of deprecated characters such as ʼn is "strongly discouraged", despite being maintained for residual CP853 compatibility.
