Fr. Mykhailo Zubrytskyi of the Pomian coat of arms was a Greek-Catholic priest, Ukrainian ethnographer, folklorist, historian, public figure, publicist, and full member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society. He can be considered a founder of such currents in historical science that emerged in the 20th century, such as oral history and (partially) microhistory. The first scholar in the world who chose the life and customs of peasants as the subject of scientific research.
