Mukutdhari Prasad Chauhan was a freedom fighter. Chauhan was born in 1901 in Bhitiharwa village of West Champaran district of Bihar state. He was one of the freedom fighters of Bihar, playing an active role in the Salt Satyagraha of 1930 and the Quit India Movement of 1942. A statue has been built in his name at the Mahatma Gandhi Ashram in Bhitiharwa, Champaran city.
