Monisha Ghosh is an electrical engineer. She was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2015 for her contributions to cognitive radio and signal processing for communication systems. On December 22, 2019, Ghosh was appointed as the first woman chief technology officer at the US government's Federal Communications Commission. She holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California in 1991. She is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur
