Mithun Chakraborty is an Indian actor, producer and politician who predominantly works in Bengali cinema. In a career spanning over four decades, he has done at least 350 films that includes films in Bengali, Hindi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bhojpuri. He is a former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament. He is the recipient of three National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. In January 2024, Chakraborty was awarded Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honour, by the Government of India
