Gordon E. "Mike" Michalson Jr. is a past president of New College of Florida. He was appointed on January 7, 2003, selected by the board of trustees in a 13-month national search. Michalson, Professor of Humanities at New College, served as Acting President from July 14, 2001, to Sept. 29, 2001 and as president from Sept. 30, 2001 to June 30, 2012.
