text: Medhurst Albert Troughton was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Kent and for amateur teams between 1862 and 1873. He was born in Milton-next-Gravesend, Kent and died at Kensington, London. He was a cousin of Lionel Troughton, who captained Kent before and after the First World War. Troughton was a right-handed middle-order batsman and an occasional right-arm under-arm slow bowler. He played in a couple of matches for the amateur "Gentlemen of Kent" side from 1862, but from
