text: The Matsesta is a river in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, that flows into the Black Sea. The river rises in the southern ranges of the Alek mountains at an elevation of 900 metres (3,000 ft) above sea level and flows through the Khostinsky City District of the city of Sochi and into the Black Sea. It is 18 kilometres (11 mi) long, and has a drainage basin of 67.5 square kilometres (26.1 sq mi). The highest point in the river's basin is 1,003 metres (3,291 ft) above sea level.
