text: Mary Reed Hall is located on the University of Denver campus in Denver, Colorado southwest of University Hall. It was built in 1932 as a new library to replace the Andrew S. Carnegie library. The building, named after Mary D. Reed, was first used in January 1933. When Penrose Library was built in 1972, the building was decommissioned. The Mary Reed Building now houses administrative offices, including those of the chancellor and provost. The hall's main architectural feature of its central tower
