Marcheta P. Evans is an American professor, counselor, and academic administrator. She is currently the President of St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Evans is the first African American and the 12th woman to serve as president of St. Catherine University. Formerly the College of St. Catherine, St. Kate’s was founded in 1905 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Today, it is one of the largest women's universities in the nation.
