Manrico Ducceschi, a.k.a. Pippo, was born on September 11, 1920, in Capua (Caserta), the son of Fernando Ducceschi and Matilde Bonaccio. The family originated in Pistoia, the town in which Manrico grew up and completed his studies, except for university at the Faculty of Lettere e Filosofia (Arts). He was however forced to interrupt his studies with the onset of World War II.
