Ludwig Jekels, or Jekeles was an Austrian physician and early psychoanalyst. Originally from Austria-Hungary, Jekels obtained his medical degree from the University of Vienna in 1892. At the university clinic, he specialized in psychiatry and neurology over the next five years. In 1897, he founded a private sanatorium for the treatment of nervous diseases in Bistrai, Silesia.
