Lucile Berkeley Buchanan Jones (1884–1989) was the first black woman to graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder. She graduated with a degree in German in 1918. The Lucile Berkeley Buchanan Scholarship was created in her honor in April, 2010. Buchanan Jones is remembered for her "fierce independence, tenacity, and resolve".
