text: Lucien Dunbidden Gardner was a justice of the Alabama Supreme Court from 1914 to 1951. He served as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court from 1940 to 1951. Gardner was an alumnus of Troy State University and University of Alabama School of Law. He was elected to the Alabama State Senate in 1906.
