text: Lowndes Henry Davis was an American politician who served the state of Missouri in the U.S. House of Representatives between 1879 and 1885. He was born on December 13, 1836, in Jackson, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. He graduated from Yale College in 1860, where he was a member of Skull and Bones, and from Louisville University Law School in 1863. He was admitted to the bar and practiced law in Jackson, Missouri.
