text: Louise E. Francis was an American journalist. She served as editor of the California Daily Report and the Castroville Enterprise, as well as special correspondent for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Detroit News-Tribune, The Grand Rapids Press, and San Francisco Chronicle. She was a member of the Alabama and California press associations, and recording secretary of the National Editorial Association for 1892 and 1893. She was also associated with the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle (CLSC)
