Lophostemon grandiflorus is a member of the family Myrtaceae endemic to Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland. The tree typically grows to a height of 3 to 18 metres. It blooms between January and December producing cream-white flowers. The bark is persistent and pale brown in colour and almost fibrous. Epiphytic and parasitic plants are often found growing on the bark. The thick, ovate and dark green leaf blades are about 5 to 12 centimetres in length and 2 to 6.5 cm wide. Th
