Ljubiša "Mauzer" Savić was a Bosnian Serb paramilitary commander during the Bosnian War and a post-war politician. He led the Garda Panteri which was one of the most elite units of the Army of Republika Srpska during the war. After the war, he became the chief of police in Bijeljina. He was assassinated in Bijeljina in 2000, due to suspected gang violence in the city after three gunmen reportedly fired upon his jeep. The first attempt on Savić's life happened in July 1998.
