Liselotte Welskopf-Henrich was a German novelist, activist, professor of ancient history, and the first woman to be elected full member of the German Academy of Sciences. She was a life-long supporter of Native American causes and the author of two series of revisionist Western novels, which retell US history from a Oglala Lakota point of view.
