Lichenaula appropinquans is a moth in the family Xyloryctidae. It was described by Thomas Pennington Lucas in 1901. It is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from New South Wales and Queensland. The wingspan is 17–23 mm. The forewings are white suffused with grey, and densely irrorated (sprinkled) with blackish-fuscous scales, with blackish-fuscous markings.
