text: Lenox Township Church of the New Jerusalem is a historic church in Lenox Township, Iowa County, Iowa, United States. It is the only Swedenborgian church in Iowa. The Jasper Colony was formed in St. Louis in 1851 and sent agents to Iowa to find a new home. The property was bought in what would become Lenox Township and each dwelling housed two families. A communal kitchen and dining hall was built to serve the community. A log cabin was built to house religious meetings that were led by Herman H.
