William Lee Kizzire was a professional American football player who played running back for one season for the Detroit Lions. Following his lone NFL season, he became a high school football coach. On December 13, 1941, six days after the attack on Pearl Harbor and the United States' entry into World War II, Kizzire enlisted in the Army Air Corps and received his commission in July 1942.
