It is composed of four villages: Băleni (Balalény), Cusuiuș (Köszvényes), Hinchiriș (Henkeres), and Lazuri de Beiuș. The commune is located in the southeastern part of the county, on the border with Arad County. It lies on the banks of the river Valea Mare.
