"Last Enemy" is a science fiction short story by American writer H. Beam Piper, and is a part of his Paratime series. The title is a reference to 1 Corinthians 15:26, “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” (KJV) It made its first appearance in August 1950, in Astounding Science Fiction magazine. In 2001, "Last Enemy" was nominated for the 1951 Retro-Hugo Award for Best Novella.
