The lake is west of Napoleonville, Louisiana, south of Pierre Part, part of the Atchafalaya River Basin of the Lower Mississippi River Region, with 246,000 acres (100,000 ha) of watershed that includes 22,300 acres (9,000 ha) in Ascension Parish 104,500 acres (42,300 ha) in Assumption Parish and 119,200 acres (48,200 ha) in Iberville Parish.
