title: Kuromon (Tokyo)
text: Kuromon is an historical mon that originally stood at a daimyo mansion in Marunouchi, Tokyo, Japan. Though it is uncertain when it was built, the consensus is that it was in the late Edo period, probably in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It now stands in the grounds of the Tokyo National Museum in Taitō ward. Kuromon is one of two surviving gates of Edo-period daimyo mansions in Tokyo. It is designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
