Kifanya is a town and ward in Njombe Urban District in the Njombe Region of the Tanzanian Southern Highlands. As of 2022, the ward has four villages, namely Kifanya, Mikongo, Liwengi and Lilombwi, with a total population of 9011 and average people per household of 4.2(National bureau of statistics- Tanzania, March 2013). Main activities within the local area are agriculture and timber industry. The indigenous tribe of the locality is Bena tribe, therefore main languages spoken are bena and kiswa
