Ke Qingshi was a senior leader of the People's Republic of China and Chinese Communist Party in 1950s and 1960s. Born in She County, Anhui Province, Ke joined Chinese Socialist Youth League in 1920, and the Chinese Communist Party in 1922. Ke led the Party in Beijing during the 1930s, until it was sabotaged by the Kuomintang, although Ke escaped arrest because he was in Suiyuan at this time.
