The Karelian Group "Nord" formerly known as the Karelian National Battalion also known as Nord is a formation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, functioning as a component of the Russian Volunteer Corps. The group is a voluntary military unit that consists mainly of ethnic Karelians and other Baltic-Finnic peoples. Its primary objective is to achieve the independence of the Republic of Karelia from Russia.
