Karbi-Meghalaya plateau is, in fact, an extension of the main Indian peninsular plateau and are originally two different plateaus - Karbi Anglong Plateau and Meghalaya plateau. The Meghalaya plateau is traditionally divided into Garo, Khasi and Jaintia Hills.
