Kaprela Island is the mostly ice-covered rocky island 500 m long in southeast-northwest direction and 150 m wide, lying off the northeast coast of Trinity Island in the Palmer Archipelago, Antarctica. It is “named after the ocean fishing trawler Kaprela of the Bulgarian company Ocean Fisheries – Burgas whose ships operated in the waters of South Georgia, Kerguelen, the South Orkney Islands, South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula from 1970 to the early 1990s.
