text: Kanoun-e-Banovan was an Iranian women's rights organization, founded on 14 October 1935. It played an important part in the Kashf-e hijab reform against compulsory hijab (veiling). In 1932, the Second Eastern Women's Congress was organized by the leading women's rights organization Jam'iyat-e Nesvan-e Vatankhah with state support.
