Sir Joseph Savory, 1st Baronet was a Sheriff of London, Lord Mayor of London and MP. He was born in Clapton, London, the eldest son of Joseph Savory of Buckhurst Park and Mary Caroline née Braithwaite, at Winkfield in Berkshire which he inherited in 1879. He was educated at Harrow School. He joined the family business of A.B. Savory and Sons and became an alderman of the City of London for the Bridge Without ward. He was appointed Sheriff of London and Middlesex for 1882 and elected Lord Mayor o
